The small-flowered Ophrys argentaria is growing near the tyrrhenian coast about between La Spezia and the province of Latium. It got its name from the Monte Argentario, where it is occurring frequently. As PAULUS and GACK reported in 1999, Ophrys argentaria is most probably pollinated by Andrena fulvata.
