Ophrys druentica  P.DELFORGE & VIGLIONE

Fam.:  Orchidaceae / Orchid Family

Genus:  Ophrys  L.

Ophrys holoserica s.l. with usually rather reflexed lip from the Provence, which Pierre Delforge had united with Ophrys aegirtica under the name Ophrys aegirtica, had been beared by Remy Souche in his book 'Les Orchidées sauvages de France' (2004) as unnamed species 'late flowering Late Spider Orchid of the Vaucluse'. The species description was then done by Delforge as Ophrys druentica in Natural.belges 87 (Orchid.19): 121-140 (2006). Also the first by Roland Martin and Errol Vela in 2012 as Ophrys holoserica subsp. souchei described orchid from roughly the same region had Remy Souche seen under his then still unnamed 'late-flowering Late Spider Orchid of the Vaucluse'. Still in the same year Pierre Delforge re-combined it as species Ophrys souchei. In 2023 Remy Souche sees Ophrys druentica as part of Ophrys dinarica.
