Bei Ornithogalum exscapum ist Schaft (Stängel unterhalb des Blütenstands) meist vollständig unterirdisch, d.h. die Stiele der einzelnen Blüten beginnen in diesem Fall bereits am Erdboden (siehe z.B. Fig. 14). Nur selten befindet sich ein kleiner Teil des Schafts über dem Erdboden. Die Blätter der Art sind 2 bis 6 mm breit mit einem weißen Mittelstreifen (siehe Fig. 16). Die Filamente der beiden Blütenblatt-Kreise unter den Staubblättern sind an der Basis verschieden breit, etwa 2.5 bzw. 1.5 mm, und verschmälern sich nach oben zu den Antheren hin (siehe Fig. 10). Der Fruchtknoten ist oben kantig (siehe Fig. 10).
Ornithogalum exscapum kommt in Sizilien, Italien, dem früheren Jugoslawien und Albanien vor, sowie in Festland-Griechenland einschließlich der Peloponnes. Die Art gehört nicht zum Ornithogalum umbellatum agg. Aggregat, sondern ist näher mit Ornithogalum collinum und Ornithogalum gussonei verwandt, was Spezialisten am inneren Aufbau der Zwiebel erkennen. Literatur: SPETA, F. At Ornithogalum exscapum the scape (stem below the inflorescence) is usually completely in the underground, i.e. the stalks of the individual flowers are in this case already starting on the ground (see e.g. Fig. 14). Rarely a smaller part of the scape is above the ground. The leaves of the species are 2 to 6 mm wide with a white central stripe (see Fig. 16). The filaments of the two petal circles under the stamens have different width at the base, about 2.5 resp. 1.5 mm, and are narrowing towards the anthers at the top (see Fig. 10). The ovary is angular at the top (see Fig. 10).
Ornithogalum exscapum occurs in Sicily, Italy, former Yugoslavia and Albania, as well as in Mainland Greece incl. the Peloponnese. The species does not belong to the Ornithogalum umbellatum agg. aggregate, but is closer related to Ornithogalum collinum and Ornithogalum gussonei, what specialists recognize by the inner structure of the bulb.
