This is an Ophrys, which is not pollinated by the males of a solitary bee, wasp, or bumblebee as others,
but by the males of a Scarab Beetle. As in the other cases also the beetles are
attracted by the pheromones, which the orchid produces.
The orchid occurs in the region of Antalya in the Southern Turkey.
It is pollinated by the beetle Blitopertha pseudonigripennis E. RÖSSNER, O. HILLERT, M. ULIANA und C. ZORN,
which species has been separated from Blitopertha nigripennis REITTER in 2024, the latter was in the orchid literature better known under the synonym Blitopertha majuscula S. I. MEDVEDEV.
