Vorige Art/previous species (Left arrowball from Animation City 1991)     Ophrys spec1     Nächste Art/next species (Left arrowball from Animation City 1991)

Fam.:  Orchidaceae / Orchid Family

Genus:  Ophrys  L.

Does anyone have an idea which Ophrys this might be?
The dark basal field, its whitish upper edging, and the pointed sepals might more match with Ophrys mammosa s.l. or Ophrys reinholdii; however, the ring in the center of the pattern on the labellum does not fit with this, as it would better match with an Ophrys of the oestrifera s.l. group, to which also the protruding appendix is matching.

Authors:
L.:  Carl von Linné (Linnaeus, 1707 - 1777), Swedish naturalist who introduced the binary naming system for plants and animals

   mammosa:   with large breasts
   reinholdii:   T.Reinhold (1802 - 1880), physician at Athens (Greece)
