Unfortunately I saw Epipactis greuteri subsp. preinensis only in bud, at a time when at other sites in Austria Epipactis greuteri, Epipactis albensis, Epipactis nordeniorum, Epipactis leutei, Epipactis neglecta, Epipactis komoricensis, and Epipactis helleborine were in full flower, Epipactis pontica was withering, and Epipactis leptochila as well as Epipactis voethii were already completely withered.
Epipactis greuteri subsp. preinensis is a clan which is standing between Epipactis greuteri and Epipactis purpurata, i.e. the color of the peduncles and blossoms has a purple tint, and in several morphological details of blossoms and habitus of the plants similar to E. greuteri influences of Epipactis purpurata can be recognized.
