Etymology:
   Daucus:   Greek plant name
   carota:   carrot
   majoricus:   from Majorca (Spanish island)
 

The plants have the roundish leaf tips which Flora Iberica shows for Daucus carota subsp. commutatus, but the short bracts of Daucus carota subsp. majoricus.
