Es gibt in Zypern drei sphegodes- bzw. mammosa-ähnliche Ophrys:
- Ophrys alasiatica, die eher der Ophrys sphegodes ähnlich ist, und deren Basalfeld heller als die Grundfarbe der Lippe ist.
- Ophrys morio, deren Basalfeld etwa dieselbe Farbe hat wie ihre relativ große Lippe.
- Die hier abgebildete Ophrys posteria, die eher der Ophrys mammosa ähnlich ist, und deren Basalfeld eine sehr dunkle, fast schwarze Farbe hat. Von den drei Arten ist sie diejenige, die am spätesten blüht.

There are three Ophrys in Cyprus which are similar to sphegodes resp. mammosa:
- Ophrys alasiatica, which is more similar to Ophrys sphegodes, and whose basal field is lighter than the basic color of the lip.
- Ophrys morio, whose basal field has about the same color as its relatively large lip.
- Ophrys posteria, which is shown on this page, and which is more similar to Ophrys mammosa. Its basal field is of very dark, almost black color. Of the three species, it is the one that is the latest in bloom.
