Solenopsis bivonae kommt nicht nur auf Zypern, sondern auch in Italien, auf Sizilien und eventuell Sardinien, sowie im Libanon vor. 2023 wurden die zypriotischen Pflanzen als Solenopsis meikleana BRULLO, C.BRULLO, CAMBRIA, V.TOMAS., MINISS. & GIUSSO abgetrennt, was aber nach der Meinung der Bearbeiter der Internetseite Flora of Cyprus - a dynamic checklist derzeit nicht gerechtfertigt ist und weiterer Untersuchungen bedarf.

Solenopsis bivonae does not only occur in Cyprus, but also in Italy, Sicily and probably Sardinia, as well as in Lebanon. In 2023, the Cypriot plants were separated as Solenopsis meikleana BRULLO, C.BRULLO, CAMBRIA, V.TOMAS., MINISS. & GIUSSO, but in the opinion of the editors of the website Flora of Cyprus - a dynamic checklist this is currently not justified and requires further investigation.
