Diese Sippe ist eine gärtnerische Hybride zwischen Hypericum androsaemum und Hypericum hircinum. Vorkommen in der Natur Mitteleuropas stammen deshalb aus Ansalbung oder Gartenauswurf. Hypericum androsaemum besitzt relativ lange Kelchblätter und einen kurzen dreiteiligen Griffel. Hypericum hircinum besitzt kürzere Kelchblätter und einen dreiteiligen Griffel, der länger als die Länge der Beere ist. Hypericum x inodorum ist intermediär, sein dreiteiliger Griffel ist etwa so lang wie die Beere.

This clan is a horticultural hybrid between Hypericum androsaemum and Hypericum hircinum. Therefore occurrences in Central European nature come from deceitful planting or garden throw-off. Hypericum androsaemum has relatively long sepals and a short three-part style. Hypericum hircinum has shorter sepals and a three-part style that is longer than the length of the berry. Hypericum x inodorum is intermediate, its three-part style is about as long as the berry.
