Die Blätter von Galium anisophyllon sind denen von Galium pumilum und Galium lucidum ziemlich ähnlich. Die Blätter sind meist kahl, können aber am Rand auch Borsten tragen. Galium anisophyllon hat einen gedrungenen Wuchs, die unteren Internodien haben nur etwa die Länge der Blätter. Die unteren Stängelabschnitte sind fadenförmig. Der Blütenstand ist eher breit. Die vier Kronzipfel sind recht kurz und ziemlich breit, sie besitzen kein fadenförmiges Anhängsel. In Deutschland ist Galium anisophyllon ziemlich selten. Von den drei oben genannten Arten ist es das Galium, das in den Alpen an den höchsten Standorten vorkommt.

The leaves of Galium anisophyllon are quite similar to those of Galium pumilum and Galium lucidum. The leaves are usually glabrous, but may also have bristles on the edges. Galium anisophyllon has a stocky growth, the lower internodes are only about the length of the leaves. The lower stem sections are thread-like. The inflorescence is rather broad. The four corolla lobes are quite short and broad, they do not have a thread-like appendage. In Germany, Galium anisophyllon is quite rare. Of the three species mentioned above it is the Galium that occurs in the highest locations in the Alps.
