Ein Artikel des israelischen Botanikers Asaf Shifman, der 2014 in J.Eur.Orch. 46 (3/4): 587-615 erschien, unterteilt Epipactis veratrifolia in zwei Unterarten. Die Nominat-Unterart kommt im Troodos-Gebirge auf Zypern vor, außerdem u.a. in der Türkei, in Nord-Israel, im Libanon, und weiter östlich über den Iran bis nach Afghanistan, Nord-Indien, Nepal, Butan, Süd-China und Burma. Sie wächst meist an feuchten Stellen in Gebirgen.
Die in dem Artikel abgetrennte und hier gezeigte Unterart oaseana wächst weiter südlich. Zu ihr gehören Populationen in Oasen in Süd-Israel, Jordanien, Ägypten, verschiedenen arabischen Staaten, Äthiopien und Somalia, sowie die Population von Episkopi auf Zypern. Die südliche Unterart unterscheidet sich unter anderem durch etwas größere Blüten und längere Blätter von der Nominat-Unterart.

The nominal subspecies occurs in the Cyprian Troodos mountains, moreover in Turkey, Northern Israel, Lebanon, and further East to Iran, Afghanistan, Northern India, Nepal, Bhutan, Southern China, and Burma. It is usually growing in wet areas in mountains.
The subspecies oaseana shown here, which is separated in the article, is growing further South. Populations in oases of Southern Israel, Jordan, Egypt, different Arabic States, Ethiopia, and Somalia are belonging to it, as well as the Episkopi population on Cyprus. The Southern subspecies differs from the nominal subspecies by somewhat bigger blossoms and longer leaves among other attributes.
