Ornithogalum kochii ist ein ziemlich zierlicher Vertreter des Ornithogalum umbellatum agg. Aggregats. Seine Blütenzweige sind nicht +/- horizontal wie bei den größeren Vertretern des Aggregats, sondern ragen schräg aufwärts, sodass der Eindruck eines recht schmalen Blütenstandes entsteht. Die Filemente der inneren und äußeren Blütenblattkreise unter den Staubgefäßen sind unten verschieden breit, sie sind unten linear und oben zugespitzt (siehe Fig. 8). Die Leisten am Fruchtknoten sind oben abgerundet. Ornithogalum kochii ist eine Pflanze des Mittelmeergebiets und Südosteuropas, aber entlang der Elbe im Osten Deutschlands gibt es ebenfalls solche oder sehr ähnliche Pflanzen, die ich selbst noch nicht gesehen habe.

Ornithogalum kochii is a rather tiny member of the Ornithogalum umbellatum agg. aggregate. Its flower branches are not +/- horizontal as at the larger members of the aggregate, but rise obliquely upwards, giving the impression of a rather narrow inflorescence. The filaments of the inner and the outer petal circle under the pollines are differently wide, they are linear below and acuminate above (see Fig. 8). The ridges at the ovary are rounded at the top. Ornithogalum kochii is a plant of the Mediterranean and of South-Eastern Europe, but along the Elbe in the East of Germany there are such or very similar plants, too, which I haven't seen myself yet.
