Etymology:
   Ornithogalum:   ornithos = bird, gala = milk
   collinum:   growing on hills
   rhodium:   from the island of Rhodes
 

Ornithogalum collinum subsp. rhodium is a plant of the woods. Literature mentions it from Epta Piges and Kamiros.
