Literatur: SPETA, F. (1990), Ornithogalum gussonei TEN., O. collinum GUSS. und O. exscapum TEN., drei häufig verkannte, aus Italien beschriebene Arten Ornithogalum collinum has only a short scape (stem below the inflorescence) above the ground, at some plants the whole scape is subterranean. The ovary is small and angular. The leaves are only 2 to 5 mm wide with a white central stripe, some have entire edges, some are rough or have short hairs at the edges. Unfortunately, the leaves at dry locations have already withered at flowering time. Ornithogalum collinum is closer related to Ornithogalum exscapum and Ornithogalum gussonei than to the Stars-of-Bethlehem of the Ornithogalum umbellatum agg. aggregate, what specialists recognize from the inner structure of the bulb.
