Evening Primroses are biannual plants: in the first year a rosette of leaves is growing, in the second year the plant comes to flower.
The frequent Oenothera biennis has relative big blossoms and no red portions in the upper parts of stem and blossoms.
But the mid rip of the leaves is reddish (if it is white the plant should be checked on Oenothera suaveolens).
It's possible that Oenothera biennis is native in Europe and Asia for long time, but this isn't known for sure.
The Evening Primroses of America, which are called Oenothera biennis, are slightly different from the European ones.
