Origin of the Bananas is East Asia, where most Bananas are still grown for Asian own needs today. Bananas exported to Europe are usually grown in Central and South America. Only in Spain the variety with smaller fruit from the Canary Islands shown on this page is common, the same applies to the bananas from the Azores for Portugal. Cultivated Bananas are breedings whose fruits no longer contain seeds. Therefore they are propagated by dividing the parent plants. | ||
