Etymology:
   Galium:   Greek plant name, from gala = milk (used to acidulate milk)
   arenarium:   on sandy soil
 

Most probably this is a white color variant of Galium arenarium, which is growing along the French Atlantic coast starting in Brittany to southern direction, and still reaches the coast of Spain. Usually the flower of the species has yellow color. The plant stores water in the succulent leaves.
