The blossom of Crocus olivieri contains three thicker stamens and a stigma, which depending on the subspecies is divided into 6 to 15 thin branches. Crocus olivieri subsp. olivieri with 6 branches is growing from South-East Europe to the East-Aegean islands. At Crocus olivieri subsp. balansae, which is also available on the East-Aegean islands as well as in Turkey, the stigma is divided into 12 to 15 thin branches. | ||
