In Central Europe sold seed of 'Chenopodium giganteum' comes often from the hybrid with Chenopodium album, of which the name is Chenopodium x reynieri. The hybrid has been described in 'Ber. Schweiz. Bot. Ges. XXXVIII ( = 38) 16: 5 - 23' in 1929. The striking purple floury color is lost during the progress of its development. The true Chenopodium giganteum grows two to three meters tall and is naturalized in parts of the Mediterranean. | ||
