In Mitteleuropa verkaufte 'Chenopodium giganteum'-Samen stammen oft von Hybriden mit Chenopodium album, deren Name Chenopodium x reynieri ist. Die Hybride wurde 1929 beschrieben in 'Ber. Schweiz. Bot. Ges. XXXVIII ( = 38) 16: 5 - 23'. Die auffällige violette Bemehlung der Jungpflanzen geht im Lauf der Entwicklung verloren. Der echte Chenopodium giganteum wird zwei bis drei Meter hoch und ist in Teilen des Mittelmeergebiets eingebürgert. In Central Europe sold seed of 'Chenopodium giganteum' comes often from the hybrid with Chenopodium album, of which the name is Chenopodium x reynieri. The hybrid has been described in 'Ber. Schweiz. Bot. Ges. XXXVIII ( = 38) 16: 5 - 23' in 1929. The striking purple floury color is lost during the progress of its development. The true Chenopodium giganteum grows two to three meters tall and is naturalized in parts of the Mediterranean. | ||
