The Branched Asphodel Asphodelus ramosus is spread in almost the whole Mediterranean, and very branched, which latter attribute differs it from the (almost) non-branched White Asphodel Asphodelus albus. The Summer Asphodel Asphodelus aestivus (Synonyme microcarpus), of which I do not have photos yet, differs from Asphodelus ramosus by rounder and dull fruits, and later flowering time in may and june. Some authors, e.g. Schönfelder, are uniting both to one species.
