Hypericum: | Greek plant name
inodorum: | scentless | ||
androsaemum: | Greek plant name, men's blood
hircinum: | he-goat | ||
This clan is a horticultural hybrid between Hypericum androsaemum and Hypericum hircinum. Therefore occurrences in Central European nature come from deceitful planting or garden throw-off. Hypericum androsaemum has relatively long sepals and a short three-part style. Hypericum hircinum has shorter sepals and a three-part style that is longer than the length of the berry. Hypericum x inodorum is intermediate, its three-part style is about as long as the berry.
